Who are the police protecting?

តើ​មិត្តទាំង​អស់គ្នា​អាច​ជួយ​ផ្ដល់​យោបល់​ផង​បានទេ?

In Cambodia, whenever and whereever people gather together to demand for or protest against something, armed forces including police, military police, and local security forces always show up.

Observing this, Ms. Keo Darith who is also a community media operator raises and asks this question:

[I] don't know what the police job is. They are always deployed wherever and whenever there is a protest. Who are they protecting?
